If you’re reading this then pat yourself on the back for surviving another year. Whether 2011 brought you misery and heartache or triumph and happiness, be thankful you made it over the threshold to 2012. There's just something about a new year that brings renewed hope. Maybe we’ll finally lose that extra weight. Finish our first manuscript or our fifteenth. Organize our home and office to make ourselves more productive. Weed out the unnecessary brick-a-brack in our way to being more productive writers.
Set some goals.
Where do you start? It’s quite simple. All you have to do is move your personal game piece to the next square on your game of life. Plan your next move. Roll the dice. Don’t be afraid to take a chance. What’s the worst that could happen? Forward progress is the only way to get the job done. All you have to do is put one foot ahead of the other.
Good luck. I'll be rooting for you all the way.
Hugs,
Reese

You reminded me why I always look forward to a new year. I've had my head down lately and was hoping I could ignore it. I definitely needed a shove into 2012. :)
By the way, Life was my favorite game during my pre-teen ("tween") years. I got to have a car (a convertible!), go to college, get married, have kids, pay taxes, go bankrupt...
And then start fresh the next day! What a concept. xoxo
Oh, Reese, you are so right. Forward progress, one step at a time is the only way to get moving. I love the Chinese proverb that say, The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. I'm stepping out, grateful to have made it through 2011.
You're right. One space at a time on the game board of life, but never getting a 'missed turn' card. A free spin or roll? Definitely!
Let's go for it! The game isn't over until it is. :)
Were you two cheerleaders in high school? lol
LOL In a word? No.
You know, you do the same cheering for us. It's reciprocal, ya know. ;) And it builds up positive energy all around us, if you want to look at it that way. That's a good thing. We all need that positive buzz.
Wow! Short. Sweet. Evocative. Descriptive. Call to action. This post has it all. I'm jealous.
One foot in front of the other. Which kids' Christmas show has a character singing that song? I don't think's it Rudolph. Maybe it's the one about Kris Kingle becoming Santa Claus? Now that I've got that song in my head I wonder what I'll dream about? [grin]
Oh, and we used to play Life when I was a kid. It's still a favorite of one of my sisters.
