So you want to write a romance…
One of the first things a writer needs to know is what s/he is writing. Fiction is broken down into genres (types), one of which is romance. That seems simple, but romance has its own genres and sub-genres, so let’s take a look at them.
What genre of romance do you write or want to write?

Nice to see the blog up and running, Rox. Good job. Tomorrow I'll be talking about the inspirational romance genre.
You've done a great all around job with this Rox. The historical romance genre is what I write. I'll talk about it on Monday.
Thank you Rox for our website and the blog. You have done an outstanding job. Looking forward to hearing from you tomorrow Pat.
Sharon.
I see a few brave souls daring to comment here and I'll join into the fun. Rox has done an amazing job for us in creating the website and the blog. Thanks so much!
Thanks, everyone. You all deserve to have a place where you can show off your knowledge and talents, not to mention share with others. The members of WARA are the best!
Joan, I'm really looking forward to Monday!
I'm running behind, Rox. Been in Never Never Land ever since we were without power for a day and a half during the ice storm. I can write about the erotic and fantasy/futuristic/paranormal sub genres on the 8th and the 27th. Thanks for the great work.
My soon-to-be published novel is a historical romance. Aside from a free read that I wrote for my publisher, the rest of my writing has been romantic suspense and contemporary.
I'm struggling with what to write next. I read historical romance pretty much exclusively for ten years, so that's what I wrote when I first started writing. My reading interests changed to category contemporary, so my writing interests changed. Ditto with romantic suspense and now contemporary.
I feel like I'm sort of chasing my tail and not getting anywhere, or at least not beyond the first few pages or a couple chapters.
A huge part of what is stopping me is fear and I have to get past that.
